christmas self care tips

Christmas is almost here and it’s one of my favorites times of the year. this year is especially special because i’ll be having 3 Christmas celebrations. my boyfriend and i will have our own first Christmas celebration in our home, which is going to be so nice and sweet. we got our first real tree at the farm, decorated it together and named him Lucius haha. on Christmas Eve, we will celebrate with my family and then leave early Christmas morning to celebrate with his family. the week leading up to Christmas we’ll be switching up our routine quite a bit because we’ll be in 4 different states. it’s all so exciting and it will be a good time but we may start to feel a little out of balance. i’m sharing tips on how i plan to enjoy all of the excitement and still feel grounded and not be stressed out.

stick to my morning routine as much as possible

be prepared – have everything organized and planned out – make a list of all things that you need. packed bag with outfits. gifts, cards, desserts and anything else you’ll need for the holidays.

drink a lot of water

sneak in some good eating habits – i know there are so many delicious foods and definitely be laid back but make good food choices where you can

keep your immune system strong by sleeping as much as you can – lack of sleep leads to stress.

take a breath! there are different stressors that can come with holiday celebrations, so take time for yourself. something so simple as making/buying and enjoying a coffee each morning.

20-30 minute gentle walks – moving your body genuinely makes you feel so good.

stay off your phone and enjoy your own Christmas.

remember it’s your responsibility to make Christmas a magical experience.
