“bad meal”

this story isn’t actually about a “bad meal” at all but a much bigger point.

the other night we went to dinner and it’s a place we go to often and love. except this time, my meal wasn’t very good. there is a difference between food lacking taste and food having gone bad. the first bite left a weird after taste, so i had another bite and it still tasted off. i put the first fish taco down and picked up the second one to see if it would taste different. same thing. i’m kind of known to be a little particular about food, so that’s why i kept taking bites to make sure it wasn’t me. i look at my boyfriend across the table and i say “this tastes funny” and he says, “let’s send it back.” and i say, “well, i feel bad.” the waitress comes over and i politely let her know and she’s apologetic and asks if i would like to order something else and i do. the manager also comes over and checks in on us. at the end of the meal we got chocolate bon bons, which i’ve never had before, so that was a nice treat. so, what’s the point of this story anyway?

– always speak up for yourself no matter how small the situation is.

– in any situation where there is a problem, what good is it if problem goes unresolved? it will keep repeating.

– the secret is to keep a clean slate and not have small things build up.

– why pretend it’s okay when it’s not? this builds resentment inside of you.
